"Almost Home" Vacation Rentals
Property 2 - Knudson Cove
A newly constructed five-bedroom, five-bathroom vacation rental overlooking Knudson Cove Marina. This two-story home was built as a vacation rental and can accommodate large groups very comfortably.
The kitchen is well appointed with a side-by-side refrigerator, glass top range, over-range microwave, dishwasher, garbage disposal, pantry and island counter. It is stocked with staples and condiments. The dining table seats ten and there are four bar stools. The living room coffee table raises to allow extra seating for more guests. The living room has a vent-free propane fireplace, two futon couches, cable television with upgraded movie channels, VCR/DVD player, wireless internet, and a beautiful water view. There is one-bedroom downstairs that has access directly to the full bathroom (tub/shower combination). This room has two twin beds that can be set up prior to your arrival as a King bed upon request. The mud-room/laundry room has a front loading large capacity washer and dryer, small chest freezer and a place to hang coats. There is a covered deck on two sides of the house to allow sitting outside to enjoy the view and a place to BBQ out of the rain! In addition to the gas BBQ there is also a propane burner and large pot for cooking crab or other seafood outside.
The upstairs four bedrooms have either two queen beds or two double beds in each room and a private bathroom with a corner shower. Each of the five bedrooms have an extension telephone and a 19" flatscreen television.
Wireless internet access is provided.
Breakfast
Since this is a vacation rental, breakfast foods are not provided. The kitchen is stocked with staples, condiments, tea and coffee. We suggest you shop for groceries before leaving town.
Location
About 12 miles NORTH OF TOWN at Mile 14 N. Tongass Highway on Knudson Cove Road. This is about a 25-minute drive from the airport ferry and the Alaska Marine Highway ferry terminal.

Pet Policy
Pets may be allowed with prior approval. Hosts have specific pet rules that will be discussed at time of booking and a pet deposit is required. A charge of $10 per day will be added to the room rate for each pet. Purchase of Travel Guard's Accidental Rental Damage Insurance is required. The cost is $45 for $1,500 coverage (one pet) or $69 for $3000 coverage (two or more pets).
Transportation
Ketchikan and the airport are separated by water and transportation to the town is by the airport ferry which meets all flights. The Airport Shuttle transports on the ferry from the airport to the town side for $10 per adult passenger. Tongass Water Taxi also meets flights at the airport, weather dependent. You will see their personnel in the baggage claim area or you can call Rich at (907) 225-TAXI.
Taxi cabs are available on the town side at the airport ferry dock and at the Alaska Marine Highway ferry terminal. To homes outside the city, it is usually better to rent a car. If you would like to rent a car we recommend Alaska Car Rental. They have offices in town and at the airport. They offer courtesy transfers. The Bus operates three routes within the city limits and along Tongass Avenue as far South as Mile 4/Rotary Beach (GREEN LINE to RED LINE); and North to Mile 10/Totem Bight State Historical Park (BLUE LINE) Monday-Friday only. The fare is $1 (Adult) and $.50 (student 5 years and up) per person (exact change required in U.S. currency). No charge for immediate transfer to next bus. NOTE: Transportation is not included to this vacation rental. If you will not have a car, we suggest you rent one rather than taking a taxi as a taxi is expensive. Check-in is after 4 p.m. and check-out is 12 noon. If you need an earlier check-in or later check out, arrangements will need to be made with the host prior to your arrival.
Deposit and Confirmations
Full payment is required on one and two night stays at the time the reservation is made. A minimum advance deposit of the first two nights paid in full or 50% of the total reservation is required on stays of three (3) nights or more. Upon receipt of your deposit, a confirmation will be sent by mail, fax or e-mail with your bed and breakfast or vacation rental information, map, directions, and travel insurance information. The balance due, if any, is payable to KRS 60 days prior to your scheduled arrival and can be paid by personal check, cashier's check, postal money order or a major credit card.
Cancellations and Refunds
We appreciate notification as early as possible if you need to cancel or change your reservation. All cancellations are subject to a processing fee of $25 plus tax. Cancellation penalties are as follows:
| Stays 1-6 nights: | Cancellations made prior to 30 days before the scheduled arrival date are entitled to a full refund less a $25 processing fee. There are no refunds for cancellations made within 30 days of the scheduled arrival date. |

| Travel Insurance: | Travel Guard covers your vacation investment.
